Passenger Comfort
In standard configuration the Airvan cabin accommodates seven forward-facing adult sized passengers, two more than other similar aircraft, and up to a 32 cu. ft of baggage space. Passengers find the Airvan has features that ensure passenger comfort, safety and enjoyment of the flight. These include at least one individual air outlet to each passenger from the fan boosted overhead ducting. Passenger boarding and disembarking is quick and simple due to the ease of boarding through the large access door and the wide body cabin with centre aisle resulting in significantly reduced turn-around times.
Freight Hauler
The Airvan is a versatile and reliable freight carrier capable of carrying an optimum useful load of close to 800 kg depending on equipment fit. The large cabin door allows for easy loading of freight into the cabin, which is twice the size of competing aircraft. The cabin has a large flat floor and unique seat and cargo restraint systems that facilitate rapid changes from passenger to freight configurations as well as facilitating mixed passenger and freight operations. The main landing gear is located well aft, which means that the floor angle remains level during loading and unloading with no tendency to tip onto its tail. The cabin floor height matches that of a tray type pick-up truck to allow easy loading/unloading of freight. The double width cabin door allows the easy loading of large or irregular shaped items and, as the cabin door is located aft of the wing, forklift loading of heavy items is enabled. An optional 18 cu. ft belly pod is useful for carrying flammable products and other dangerous goods that are not suitable for carriage in the passenger cabin
Surveying
The Airvan can accommodate fuselage or pod-based equipment used in high-resolution mapping, surveying and geological exploration. Certified installations of High Resolution Imaging systems are in daily use on Airvan aircraft.
Search and Rescue
Exceptional visibility from all seats, ease of operation at reduced flight speeds and long loiter endurance makes the Airvan an excellent vehicle for search and rescue missions. The Airvan’s wings are located above the windows, allowing all spotters to be seated next to large panoramic windows with unobstructed views.

Passenger Comfort
The Cessna Grand caravan is an unpressurised single engine, high wing, turboprop aircraft with fixed landing gear. The aircraft can be arrange in numerous configurations and is able to accommodate up to ten forward facing adult sized passengers seats. It is equipped with air-conditioning for personal comfort and has an endurance of up to 6.5hours and a range of 1000nm (1852km). Boarding and disembarking is quick and easy due to a large rear air stair door and centre aisle configuration allowing for fast turnaround times.
Freight Hauler
The Caravan is a large and versatile freight carrier originally capable of carrying a useful load of over 1.5 ton but ours has been increased to over 1.7 ton with the APE III payload extender attached. The aircraft has a large rear cargo door, 1.27m high by 1.24m wide, able to load freight of various shapes and sizes. It has long range capabilities, being able to fly for up to 1000nm (1852km) and cruise up to 150kts (281km/h) and a ceiling height of 25,000ft and a climb of up to 1000ft per minute. It is equipped with supplemental oxygen and is fully IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) approved meaning fewer delays due to weather.
Surveying
The Caravan has an in floor camera hatch which is easily accessed and a 28v electrical system able to accommodate a multitude of photographic and film equipment.
